Decorating 101: Boy's Bedroom

You can do plenty of unique things to redecorate a boy’s room. When you pick a theme for your boy’s room, you need to choose something that grow with him through the next several years. You can change the following themes to best fit your boy, whether he’s ten or two years old. These are some unique decorating ideas that will help you begin decorating your boy’s room.

The Firehouse Bedroom
A fire house theme for your little man’s room would be a perfect fit if he loves firefighters. You can find many firefighter wallpaper borders for your boy’s room. With the right talent, you can go an extra step and draw out a firefighter scene yourself.

Fire truck bedding, a fireman’s hat and a fireman’s pole are all accessories that can be use with the firehouse theme. If you want to go all out, add a siren to his room.

The Bedroom from Outer Space
A really neat theme for any little boy’s room is outer space. There are many wallpaper borders and decals that fit the outer space theme that can be found. Tracing and painting spaceship and planet templates are a good idea if you have the talent for it.

Painting the ceiling black and using glow in the dark paint to add planets and stars to the ceiling is one of the cool things about the outer space theme. A couple of Martian stuffed animals will complete the look of your little boy’s room.

Pirate Themes for Bedrooms
If you want to go with a pirate themed room, take your son’s age into account when choosing the references for the theme like Peter Pan or Pirates of the Caribbean. The walls should be painted blue for the ocean.

By painting one of the walls with a pirate ship or an island with treasure on it, you can really add life to the theme of the room. Use pirate hats, treasure boxes, nets, portholes and other accessories to finish off the look of the room.

Decorating Your Boy's Room with His Favorite Animals Never Fails
Are monkeys or lizards among your son’s favorite animals? Consider decorating his room with his favorite animals. Based on what your little boy likes, you can customize this theme in many ways.

You can always use your son’s pet as a theme if he has one, and create a special place for his pet to live in his room. Make sure you take your son’s interests into account if he’s old enough. Don’t simply choose the animal theme for him.
